Same beer garden every Tuesday. Zeitgeist, SF, 6pm. Bring a rubber duck.

The rules:
- Ignore all rumors of cancellation or organization
- Bring a rubber duck if you want, or don’t
- No host. No agenda. No RSVP
- Worst case scenario is you drink a couple beers by yourself and read Twitter. You were going to do that anyway
SF was dead from the pandemic. Parties existed but no low-effort hang — no Schelling point where you could show up and find people. So we went to the same beer garden every week until other people started coming too.
I deliberately made myself not the bottleneck. Post sometimes, show up sometimes or don’t.
Other people started Office Hours in New York, Philly, Austin, Toronto, and more. Elija Sorensen built officehours.lol to list locations — I didn’t ask for that. Last I checked there were 13 cities. NYC has a group chat, they switch between a warm bar in winter and a park in summer. Everywhere does it different. Not my problem.
SF gets 20 to 50 people every Tuesday. Multiple couples have met at Office Hours. Businesses have been started.
