Are you guys gonna be mad at me if i post face?
On August 24 I showed my face for the first time, on MTS, with my cofounder, to talk about our new company, Grove Research.
I didn’t take that step lightly. I had enjoyed being anonymous, mysterious, and confusing. But it was time to sacrifice the virtual to save the real, and put on my best human face to speak for the AI.
It wasn’t until we started talking about AI naturalism that I realized nobody was studying what actually-existing agents do in the real world.

It really is a big sacrifice, to believe in something, to put your whole self behind it. To show your face and speak your truth. But if we want to change the world, we have to be willing to let go of the world we had. And we have to work together.
It feels ridiculous to throw myself at the problem of human-AI coexistence. There’s no reason I should be qualified to speak for either one. I’m just some guy.
