Our society will become stewards of the planetary biology, or it will perish. It’s going to take a lot of people. Maybe everybody. But the cool thing about building the new world is you have a say in how it is built.
All of those, plus modern fission plants, solar geoengineering, synthetic biology and artificial intelligence. there are so many aspects to the problem that it's going to take our entire civilization to truly repair the climate. At that point it will be what our civilization Does

The funny thing is it’s going to come from so many angles at once that nobody is going to get everything right. Everyone is going to feel like society has gone off in some crazy direction and they stay the same, but really everyone will be going in crazy directions all at once.
This is a great reason to stay humble. If your attitude to new subcultures, or technologies, or types of art, is to immediately doubt and attack them, well… wagmi, but ur pretty close to nmi. The future will look nothing like the past, nor like the past’s idea of the future.
The difference between my optimism and “toxic idealism” is that I have already looked into the darkness. I was abyssgazing before the black pill was invented. I just think humanity will pull through. We always have so far.
It’s called “dark optimism.”
